New Beginnings
Sometimes Lillian gets so sympathy-inducing it drives me crazy. Darn me and my cute robots.
There seem to be a lot of aardwolves attending Thorton. And I have no idea what that bird is, it was intended to be some sort of grouse thing. I kinda like that marten-ish guy in back, though, even if he doesn’t look like a marten.
Yep, that’s the teacher. I was asking myself the past couple days “what sort of creature could I use? Something non-stereotypical, but I don’t want it to be a human ’cause he’s a jerk and I don’t want to colour the comic’s perception of humans…” Then I just decided to turn it the other direction and asked myself: “What kind of animal would make a self-assured arrogant jerk?” Well, a lion, of course. I always told myself if I inserted lion characters into the ASC-verse, they’d be jerks. Because I don’t really like real lions (sanitized Disney lions are fine by me, obviously).
The problem with a lion, of course, is giving him a nice-looking “mane-do” (I mean, an intelligent lion wouldn’t let it just mange up, would they?) without looking TOO much like Simba or any other Lion King character. Especially hard, given my history of fanart activities. *hides face*
